Here again we witness the upsurge from Gurjars. Reservation is the issue burning whole country right from 1950 when our Constitution took its first breath. Who would have thought that initiatives taken to look into grievances of lower caste people and giving them unfair advantage to uplift their social status will one day mould into habit of creeping along with crutches of reservations.
Those faces squatted on rail tracks display an utter sense of satisfaction and in their eyes, floundering is dream of a better life and a guaranteed job. Colonel Kirodi Singh Baisla is leading the front and tactfully swayed the crowd to join the “un-named” movement. Most of the youth don’t know why they are into this movement. All they know is that if government accepts this demand, their life will be become a fairy tale. This shows how can an uneducated crowd can be turned up in massive number. They trust Mr. Baisla and he has assumed a role of self proclaimed God amongst the community. He orders and people blindly follow. If we turn to J&K where Gurjars account for 20% of the total population in state, reservation is neither demanded nor given. Then is there something special with Gurjars in Rajasthan. As per official records and wiki says Gurjars are basically people known to excel in agricultural, pastoral and nomadic activities from long back to their origin in 6 th century. Then why is there an urgence of demanding straight 5% reservation. This is not a war whose decisions are to be made at the stake of anyone's life. Situation was created right in 2008 when violent protests were made. On one side you are demanding reservation owing to backwardness due to lack of education and prevelance and inclination of mass towards agriculture and at the same time they want RAS or RPS to be some of them, who did nothing but herded catlle his whole life. Giving 1% reservation at the moment is just the only way to handle the bipartite situation from getting worse. Official census, if done, as per orders by Honourable Supreme Court, will clear the mist. They are demanding 5% reservation and I am pretty sure that they won't comprise more than 10% of the total population. So are they like asking for the jobs of new born or for the one on death bed. There has to be some mathematical logic about this 5 figure or is it just decided in wantonness. Seems like they all are a group of agitated child, who is sitting out in open after showing fury and crying and weeping on the floor asking for a doll named reservation. This has directly affected our industries and tourism. Industries are suffering setback of crores/day due to unavailability of goods on time by trains. Royal Rajasthan on wheels got full booking after a real long time but the insurgence soured the plans of merrymaking organizers.
Hesitation shown by Mr. Sachin Pilot, (MoS for Comm and Tech. ), upon recursive call by Mr. Baisla to join the same community delegation for talk, is fair enough to illegitimatize their demands. As an educated person and a responsible citizen, he knows what is right and instead of going with the flow. He is neither opposing the demand nor he is supporting them.
If this reservation accepted we will have 68% reservation in Rajasthan. But for no matter what happens, Sun will rise everyday.
